Alton  Howard September 25, 1938 - August 31, 2022

Alton Howard was born on September 25, 1938, in Autaugaville, Alabama.  He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized.

His formal education was in Cincinnati Public Schools graduating from Taft High School in 1956. He served his country honorably in the Navy from 10/8/56 through 08/22/60. He married the love of his life Florence Mack in 1960, to which union one son, Alton K. Howard and three daughters, Tonya and April Howard and Diana L. Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father-Isaac J. Howard Sr., mother-Willa Mae Howard (Palmer), wife-Florence Howard (Mack), brothers-Andrew Howard, Willie James (Delores) Howard Sr, and Jasper (Carol) Howard Sr.; daughter-Diana Stewart and grandson-Jason Stewart.

Alton worked at O.P.W. Division of Dover for thirty-eight years and retired in 2004. He was an avid sportsman and loved watching both baseball and football. His favorite teams were the Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Alton was known as being a "man's man", always exhibiting great strength in character and leading by example.

Alton will be sorely missed by friends and family; he enhanced their lives and illuminated their paths in life.

He leaves to cherish his memory: beloved son-Alton K. (Jeanette) Howard; daughters-April Howard and Tonya Howard, brothers-Isaac J. (Hannah) Howard Jr; sister-Etta (George) Hill; grandsons-Rodney (Danielle) Stewart, Michael (Sharry) Stewart; Demetrius Stewart, and Daniel Howard; granddaughters-Chrishawna Stewart, Kaylah (Trevon) Boone. Also to mourn are special friends Canzata Macon, Pamela Howard, Larry Barber and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the Unity Christian Church, 8359 Burns Avenue, Cincinnati  (45216).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.

Pallbearers: Michael Stewart,  Rodney Stewart,  Demetrius Stewart,  Daniel Howard,  Bryan Stewart, Willie Howard Jr., Trevon Boone, and  Everett Howard.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Rahiem Howard.   Reggie Oliver.  Jonathan Howard.  and   David Howard.

Flower Bearers: Chrishawna Stewart,   Kaylah Boone, Simone Stewart,  and  Savannah Stewart.
