Alonzo L. West was born February 14, 1963, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Harvey West Sr. and Murnell W. Harrison at Mercy Hospital. He gently closed the final chapter of his life on June 25, 2026, to be with his creator.

“Fatty”, as affectionally called by his family and friends, also had several catchy names like Zo Zilla Zoe, Uncle Slo, and kid’s favorite, Uncle Ruckos. Some of us referred to him as Chef Boyardee because that boy could make those pots and pans rattle and occasionally sing.

Alonzo was a faithful and active member of Isreal Baptist Church. He had the willingness to seek God. He praised God in all he did alongside his family. Alonzo was a sleek and sophisticated dresser who knew how to throw anything on and represent himself and his family in the highest honor.

Alonzo attended Garfield High School and furthered his education at UNLV, Dayton, Ohio where he graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts. He practiced his skills at Applebee’s and French Toast Heaven and ended his career at Tanos. He also did various jobs for Ron Hall’s Famous Detailing.

Alonzo was preceded by his father, daughter, brother, uncle, grandmother and cousin Mary Flowers.

Alonzo leaves to cherish his memory of his mother Murnell W. Harrison; his wife Lavada West; his brothers Harvey West Jr., Robert West, and Martin West; his aunt Verelene Summerour; Gregory Summerour; cousin and best friend Mario Summerour; and a special friend Micheal Davenport, Delvon Davis, Gregory Kennedy, Ron and Ray Hall, Dreamsicle and Bar Bar, a host of nieces and nephews, and many other friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Israel Baptist Church, 701 S 7th Street, Hamilton (45011). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 11:00 am. Friends and family will gather to share memories, find solace in one another's company, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.
