Alma Gibson 1923 - 2015 TO VIEW / PRINT / DOWNLOAD FUNERAL PROGRAM https://www.scribd.com/doc/291671491/Alma-Gibson-Memorial Alma Gibson was born on April 19, 1923 in Yosemite, Kentucky, Casey County, to David Allen and Etta (Riffe) Allen. She was the youngest of 12 children. On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, she entered into immortal rest. Her family moved to Springboro, Ohio around 1929, where she attended Springboro Elementary School until moving to the greater Cincinnati area. She graduated from Lockland Wayne High School in 1941. She went to work in the aviation industry in Dayton, Ohio at Wright-Patterson Airforce Base during World War II, where she built aircraft. After the war she used her skills first at Avco Corporation, and then at General Electric Aircraft Engine Facility in Evendale, where she retired after more than 25 years of faithful service. Alma was joined in holy matrimony to Karl A. Gibson on July 21, 1946, and from this union 3 children were born - Karl, Jr., Valerie, and Michelle. Alma enjoyed many hobbies, including cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and quilting. She was a master quilter, and even won first-place prize at the Hamilton County Fair for one of her quilts. She was also an avid gardener of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Alma was a devoted member of Carmel Presbyterian Church for more than 30 years until changes in health prevented her from being more active. She served faithfully on several boards including Session and the Deacon Board. She was a former president of the Whitaker Club and helped organize the Annual Holiday Bazaar. She was also instrumental in organizing many fundraising trips around the country. She faithfully attended Sunday School and Noon Bible Study. Finally, Alma truly loved her family. She was a caregiver to numerous family members as well as friends. She leaves to cherish her memory: Son Karl A. Gibson, Jr. (Marty); Daughter Michelle A. Diagne (Babacar); Grandchildren Amima Diagne, Saliou Diagne, and Aminata Ramsey; three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Visitation is from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the Carmel Presbyterian Church, 3549 Reading Road, Cincinnati (45229).
