IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alfreda (Bean)
Jones
November 27, 1943 – September 9, 2024
Alfreda Jones, born on November 26, 1943, passed away on September 9, 2024, at the age of 80. She was a woman known for her infectious sense of humor, often spicing up gatherings with her playful jokes and bold personality. Her love for the lottery and games of chance was unparalleled, with bingo and the casino being her favorite pastimes. Freda and her sisters, Dump and Bonnie, would drag poor Chrissy, Marlene, and Kisses up to Dayton, Ohio, for afternoon bingo, then to the casino, and back for night bingo. Freda's passion for spending time with her family and creating lasting memories was evident in everything she did. She cherished the time spent with her loved ones, relishing their company, listening to music, playing serious spades games with her granddaughter Starr, frying pig's feet, and spreading joy with her mischievous spirit.
In her zest for life, Freda will always be remembered for her spirited nature, often displaying her feisty side. Everyone knows that despite her tough exterior, those who knew her understand that beneath it all, she loved deeply and had a heart of pure gold. She raised and took care of many people in her life, especially during her time living in the Lincoln Courts.
Freda was the wife of the late Harold Jones, and a dear sister to Jimmy Bean, Yvonne Mathis, Wayne Thompson, Aaron Mathis, the late William Bean, and the late Rachel Thompson. She is also preceded in death by her grandsons Brandon Kelly and Ronald O'Neal Steele Jr., and her niece Gail Millow and Betty Ligon. She is survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Her lifelong friends include Barbra Jean (BJ), Delois Byers, Margret (Pee Wee), cousin Norma Jean, and Shirlene Menefield.
In her memory, her legacy of love, laughter, and spontaneity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Walker Event Center, 3939 Reading Road (Corner of Reading and Paddock), Cincinnati (45229).
