IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alex
Kent
February 17, 1917 – May 1, 2013
Alex Kent passed away May 1, 2013, in Cincinnati. He was 96. Born February 17, 1917, in Chicago, IL, he was one of five children. His career spanned 70 years and included serving as a Captain in the U. S. Army, working as a local business owner of the Hitching Post Restaurant, and as a home health companion to the residents of Evergreen Retirement Home. He was the president of the Kiwanis. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a longtime active member of the Episcopal Church. His wife, Beatrice, describes Alex as being "a great man. He was a family oriented, hard working and very outgoing". But of all his gifts, storytelling was the greatest of all, captivating any listening ear no matter how many times the story had been heard. Alex is survived by his wife, Beatrice (nee Skufakiss) Kent; sons, James (Donna) Kent, Samuel (Libby) Kent, and Alex (Tamara) Kent; sister, Helen; brother Soc; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church on Saturday, June 15th at 10:00 am. A reception will follow the service. Share special messages with the Kent family at www.HerbWalker.com. Remembrances may be made in Alex's honor to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, an illness he worked to eradicate by collecting pop tabs.
