Troy Jerome Davis was born on August 20, 1966 to Alfreda Davis and Larry Miller. He was the 4th of six children born to Alfreda. At a very early age he began living with Curtis and Bronetta Ward; they raised him in a very loving home with their other children who loved and accepted him as their brother. Troy attended Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Woodward High School in 1984. Troy was a very upbeat, lively young man with a beautiful smile, he was known for how well dressed and sharp he was; these things won him many friends and admirers. He was very much a jokester and the life of the party. Troy was loved by many! After High School he worked various jobs but had a passion for and excelled at selling cars; which was a perfect fit for his charming personality!
Troy had two children, Rakeem and his namesake Troi, who is affectionately called Lil’ Troi. He was a devoted father. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his children.
In 2001 Troy sustained injuries that paralyzed him and confined him to a wheelchair. Although this was a major life altering event, he took it in stride! He quickly learned how to care for himself; he kept up his handsome, always sharp appearance and was never bitter or angry about his situation. Troy was very resilient and determined to live the rest of his life with dignity and pride.
On January 11, 2020 Troy succumbed to complications from his injuries and went home to be with the Lord at the age of 53.
Troy’s parents, Alfreda, Larry, Curtis and Bronetta preceded him in death. His beloved sister Rahshina Davis also preceded him in death.
Troy leaves to cherish his loving memories: his son Rakeem Mills, daughter, Troi Kayla Davis; sisters Myra Davis, Tamara Davis, Stephanie Parker, Corlette Ward, Corliss Jett, Debra Triggs; brothers Mark Davis and Dwight Ward; 8 grandchildren and host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
