Robin Sheffield Obituary

Robin Jeanne Sheffield, 63, transcended into eternity on Friday, February 1, 2019. Robin was born to the late James Wallace Stowers and Viola Stowers on February 6, 1955.  She was the oldest daughter of James and Viola Stowers 11 children.

Robin graduated from Holmes High School in Covington, KY.  She attended Northern Kentucky University where she obtained an Associates degree. She retired from the Covington, Kentucky Police Department where she worked as a dispatcher.

Robin took over the position of family matriarch upon the passing of her mother.  She loved her family whole heartedly. She made sure the family traditions of having Thanksgiving Dinner with the entire family and the annual 4th of July picnic continued.

Robin had an open door policy at her home.  She raised 2 of her nephews in addition to her own three children. She allowed countless family members extended stays in her home when they were in need.  She was a good listener and counseled many family members daily.  She encouraged everyone to maintain focus as well as strive to achieve a successful life.

Robin was extremely intelligent and could hold a conversation at any table. She was an avid reader her entire life. She loved Jeopardy and The Wheel of Fortune and could respond just as quickly as any of the contestants all while doing another task. She also had her guilty pleasure shows, House Hunters, Hallmark Christmas movies, and she loved “Judy”, Judge Judy.

Robing is preceded in death by her son, Demetrie Blaine Stowers, her sister Kathleen Stowers, brothers Keith Stowers, Gilbert Stowers, Daryl Arvin and her parents James Stowers and Viola Stowers.

Robin is survived by 2 children, Lamieka Wright and Cameron Sheffiled; 2 grandchildren, Jaxon Sheffield and Coby Sheffield; brothers Wendell (Aletha) Stowers, Jeffrey (Mary) Stowers, James (Rodney) Stowers, Joseph (Sandra) Stowers, Todd Stowers, her sisters, Michelle Stowers, Sharon Bass, Dionne Stowers, Rose Wilson and Darlene Arvin and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.

Service Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Holy Spirit Church, 825 Washington Ave., Newport, Kentucky 41071.  Father Doug Lauer is officiating.
