Mary Alice Ray

Mary Alice Ray, age 62, passed away peacefully November 6, 2019. She was born August 2, 1957 to the union of Robert and Lillie Ruth Nutt in Cincinnati, Ohio, both of whom preceded her in death. They had five children including Mary Alice, Roger (Betty) Nutt (preceded her in death), Robert (DeJuan) Nutt Jr., Diane (Greg) Copening, and Randy (Marion) Nutt.

Mary Alice Ray had an amazing bond with her husband, Harry Ray Sr., whom she wed on June 27, 1978. They were inseparable. It will be hard on family and friends to see Harry Ray Sr., without his loving wife by his side. To their union three children were born, La'Tonia (Jason) Turner, La'Trice (Latisha) Ray, Harry (Cynthia) Ray Jr. and 12 grandchildren, Jaysha Turner, Janiah Turner, Jayla Turner, Jason Turner Jr, Jay'Airrah Turner, Jashawn Turner, Ja'Shonti Turner, Ambriyanah Ray, Nakiyah Ray, Ciara Wilson, Chase Moreno, Channing Moreno, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Mary Alice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to the service of others. For over 30 years, she was an employee of Oak Pavilion Nursing Home, where she worked as a nursing assistant. When she retired in 2010, her favorite thing was to have the whole family together.

Mary Alice had the voice of an angel and loved to sing. In her earlier years she sang with the Charles Brown International Singers. Her children's favorite memories of her included her smile which could brighten up a room, her love of elephant figurines, and her favorite sports teams, which consisted of the Cincinnati Bengals, UC Bearcats, and the Cincinnati Reds.

Visitation is from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the Olivet Baptist Church, 6838 Montgomery Road, Silverton (45236). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 10:30 am.

Interment will follow at Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220.
