Edna Earl Alexander

Edna Earl Alexander was born on May 10, 1925 in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late Richard and Mattie Lee Alexander.

After leaving Mt. Sterling, KY, she moved to Covington, KY and lived a short time with her sister, Mary Sue.  She later moved to Cincinnati with her sister, Lela, whom she had an incredible bond.  They’ve always lived together, taking care of each other.

Edna went to nursing school at Good Samaritan Hospital and became a Registered Nurse for several years.  She retired from Good Samaritan Hospital after many years of service.

She had a god given gift and became a very good seamstress, making wedding dresses, curtains, lamp shades and much more.  She was well known for her sewing skills.  While in Covington, she joined the Robin Street Christian Church and served there until she moved to Cincinnati, OH.  She joined the Fifth Street Christian Church and served on the usher board for many years.

Edna passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 at her residence.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Sue; one brother, Richard Alexander Jr.; and two stepbrothers, Woodson and Robert Lee Mason.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one beloved sister, Lela B. Alexander; a very faithful great niece, Kimberly (Chris) Haugabrook; one nephew, Charles (Pamela) Mason; two nieces, Wanda Mason and Rosetta Anderson, of Dayton, OH; several great nieces and nephews; and two special great great nieces, Keria and Kayla Haugabrook.

She was a very kind, loveable and well mannered lady who always wore a smile.  She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on  Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Fifth Christian Church, 3203 Wold Avenue, Cincinnati  (45207).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
