Catherine Mae Wessel

Catherine Mae Wessel beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep into the loving arms of Jesus while at home. We praise Jesus for His mercy.

Kate, Kay, or grandma, as she was known to many, was born on March 11, 1930, in Harrison, Ohio enjoying 94 full years of life. She owned and operated Ridgemoor Beauty Shop in Mt. Healthy from 1968 until retiring in 1993. While being a successful business owner and real estate investor, she earned her single engine pilot's license. Other interests included boating, camping, traveling, cards, and anything that brought her closer to her family and friends. She was an avid Bible reader, sometimes reading her Bible for many hours at a time. She also enjoyed classic wholesome movies. Kate was known for her kindness, generosity, and fun-loving spirit and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who got to know her loving heart.

Catherine married Clarence Edwin Wessel on November 22, 1947; they were married for 57 years before he went to the Lord on January 2, 2005. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Martha Biddle, a sister, Marie (Rudy) Alvarez, three brothers, Chester (Dee), James (Eileen), William Biddle (Shirley Biddle survives) and her infant great granddaughter Sophia Wessel in 2012. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Wessel, Cincinnati, OH., and son, Roger (Carla) Wessel, Greensburg, IN. Grandchildren include, Paula (Rob) Ruettinger, Tampa FL., Patricia (Chris) Nicholson, Plant City, FL., Cynthia (Paul) Denny, Greensburg, IN., Cassie (Gabriel) Olivares, Cincinnati, OH., Lindsey Wessel, Cincinnati, OH., Gretchen Boughner, Connersville, IN., Quentin (Jenny) Brown, Rushville, IN., and Vincent Brown, Connersville, IN. She was also blessed with 17 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.

To celebrate Catherine’s blessed life, a visitation honoring her memory will be held at the Walker Funeral Home on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 10:00 am.- 11:30: am. This will be an occasion to come together, share cherished memories, and pay tribute to a woman who left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to know her. Funeral service will commence at 11:30 am. Burial 12:30 pm., at Crown Hill Memorial Park, 11825 Pippin Rd. Colerain Township, 45231.
