Samuel Brinson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 4, 1957. Loved and nurtured by parents, Clint and Lois (Turner) Brinson, Sister Deborah Ann Brinson. They all have currently preceded Samuel's departure from this earthly world. He departed this life on October 18, 2014, Sweetest Day.
Samuel attended Robert A Taft High School for his freshman and sophomore years. After graduating from Withrow High School in 1975, Samuel attended Fisk University, Nashville, TN. He completed two years of study, majoring in Early Childhood and Adolescence Education and minor Child Psychology.
After returning to Cincinnati, Samuel was employed by Coca Cola Bottling Company, as a Forklift Operator for 7 years. Also, he worked at the Clarion Hotel, Newberry’s Department Store. Then he went on to work at the Chocolate Factory in 1995, but left employment due to health problems.
Faced with months of recovery from a massive stroke and a brain injury, Samuel persevered and overcame the daily trials and tribulations of recovery and rehabilitation with an amazing inner strength. Walking with the aid of a cane, he walked proudly with grace and dignity.
Samuel had an infectious laugh and smile, that felt like a beam of light while you were in his presence. Always the consummate gentleman, a man of impeccable manners, instilled in him by his parents, it was a pleasure to discuss the events of the world. He was a very good listener, kind spirited and always had kind words to share.
To be greeted by that melodic voice was a pleasure. Hello Lady, How we doing today? Have a bless day? The Lord will take care of that. I appreciate that, and many other phrases. All he wanted was to live in peace. He loved ice cream, Raspberry was his favorite. He will always be remembered as a courteous man with exceptional charm and charisma. A heart felt special thanks to a man who made this world a better place.
He loved music, artists such as Jimmy Hendricks, Erykah Badu, Temptations, Nancy Wilson, Billy Stewart, Savannah, The Whispers, The Moments, Billie Holiday, The Poets, Chante Moore and the list goes on and on. Favorite Comedian, Richard Pryor.
Samuel a private individual, who will be remembered as a man who faced obstacles and challenges with an abundance of intelligence and dignity.
Samuel leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his cousins, Patricia Birks, Jimmy Birks, Daryl Turner, and Howard Turner. Special brother and friend, John James Roland. His devoted friend and loving companion, Diana Ross.
