Obituary for Lillian Norman

In Loving Memory Of
Lillian Norman

After eighty-six years of a wonderful and joyous life, God decided to call home his beautiful angel, Lillian Norman.

Lillian was born October 15, 1931, in Unadilla, Georgia, to the late Booker T. and Hosie B. Davis. Under her mother’s guidance she became a great cook. Cooking became a passion and she took pride preparing good meals for her family. She graduated from Vienna High School in 1950.

In 1959 she met the late Grady Norman and they were united in holy matrimony. To this union there were eight children.

Lillian accepted Christ at an early age, uniting with Big Popular Springs Baptist Church, where she faithfully served until she moved to Cincinnati in 1955. After moving to Cincinnati, she immediately united with Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member who served in many auxiliaries including; The Young Matrons, The Senior Missionary, and The Fanetta Ross Choir. Lillian was a member of Beulah for over sixty years.

From 1963 - 1979 Lillian served as the president of the Parent Teacher Association at Washburn Elementary. She earned many awards for her contributions to this committee. Lillian was employed in 1975 by the Government Services Association and was assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a personal custodian for the Cincinnati office. She was highly respected for her work ethic and endearing personality. She retired in 1990 and is still remembered as one of their most highly valued and dedicated employees.

Lillian had a tremendous love for all people. She was kind and always willing to help others in need. Anchored in her love for Christ, her life was full of joy, laughter, and friendship. We will miss her warmth, kindness, inner beauty, and outward devotion to her family and friends. But most of all we will miss that golden smile and wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Grace Norman, three brothers, Roy Lee Davis, Sheddie Davis, J.R. Davis, Sr., and sister, Lillie Mae Milton.

Lillian leaves to cherish her precious memory four siblings; George Davis, Vienna Georgia, Charlie Davis, Atlanta, Georgia and Susie K Whitehead (Plenty), Miami, Florida. She also leaves to mourn seven children: Larry Davis (fiancée Ola), Albany Georgia, Gwendolyn Davis (Tyrone) Cleveland, Ohio, Julius Davis, Albany, Georgia, Artis Norman (Viola), Craig Norman, Zachary Norman (Janice) and Maurice Norman (Ella); one aunt, Lucinda Walker of Atlanta, Georgia; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.
