Obituary for Julia Edna Letcher

Julia Edna Moffett Letcher also known as “Jute” was born Friday, December 18, 1925 in Georgetown, KY and was the 5th daughter to the late Edward Moffett and Ellen Kilpatrick Moffett. She transitioned from this life Tuesday 10:10am, October 10, 2017.
Julia accepted Christ at the age of 12 years old as a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown, KY under Rev. H. Nutter. She loved singing in the Junior Choir. Later she moved to Cincinnati, OH and joined under watchcare under the late Reverend Harry Brown and on Sunday, December 1, 1963 she became a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Walnut Hill Cincinnati, OH. Julia worked with the children on the computers in Mrs. Victor’s tutorial class and was an active member of Adult Sunday School class 25 until she became ill.
Julia was married to the late Major Letcher Jr and from this union two sons were born, Terry Lee Letcher and Wayne Edward Letcher.

Julia attended and graduated from Ed Davis High School in Georgetown, KY. She loved to help people who were in need whether it would be, in the hospital where she worked as a Nurse’s Aide or the children she worked with in the educational system as a Teacher’s Aide. She was always looking to help someone improve in their life situations.
Julia was a kind-hearted person a friend to those who came across her path. She loved to cook and was a very good cook. As the type of person that sewed seeds of peace, she loved when family and friends were on one accord. Being an amazing wife and mother to her family, Julia would always look for a way of peace versus a way of discontent.

Julia Leaves to cherish her precious memory one son Wayne Edward Letcher, one grandson William Letcher, one granddaughter Olivia Letcher, a great grandson Isaiah Lee Letcher-Daniels and one sister, Daisy Spotts of Georgetown Kentucky. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Julia was preceded in death by one son, Terry Lee Letcher, five sisters, Mayme Morton, Lucille Riley, Viola Garmony, Ellen Johnson and Katherine Moore.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Bethel Baptist Church - Alms Place , 2712 Alms Place, Cincinnati (45206). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
