Gwendolyn Gordon Obituary

Gwendolyn Viola Gordon was born May 30, 1937 to the union of the late Charles Sr. and Viola Bell. She was the fourth of five children. She departed this life October 26, 2014. Brother Charles Bell Jr. and sister Carolyn Hill preceded her in death.

At an early age, she became a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Gospel Choir and Circle One. After a church merger and the church becoming New Vision United Methodist, she was a monitor for the track.

Gwen attended Douglass School. She was a 1956 graduate of Withrow High School. In 1960, she graduated with a Bachelor Degree from Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was a 1961 graduate of Jewish Hospital School of Medical Technology. Gwen started her career as a Medical Technologist working at Jewish Hospital for numerous years and then working at University Hospital for many more years before retiring.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sister, Margaret (Charles) Cunningham, brother, Lawrence Karin; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Bell; nephew, Charles (Jeannette) Bell III; nieces, Beverly Wright, Chondolyn (Kenneth) Webb, Marchelle (Ramon) Tubbs, Pamela Bell, Tracey Bell, great nieces and nephews, Rhonada Wright Brown, Tommie Wright, Jr., Charles Justin Bell, Antonio Cunningham, Keneice Webb, Ceara Tubb, Danielle Bell, and a host of relatives and friends.
