AUBREY was born on December 26, 1960, to Clara and Theodore McGinnis in Denver, Colorado. He was the youngest of their six children. AUBREY was four years old when his mother passed away at the young age of thirty-seven. AUBREY and his older sister Bernadette were relocated to Chicago, to be raised by their aunt and uncle, Laura and Tommy Farmer.
AUBREY graduated from Calumet High School in Chicago. He pursued higher education at Vincennes University in Vincennes, IN where he received a Tuskegee Airman Scholarship. Upon graduation, he earned an Associates of Science degree in Aviation Technology in 1980. He attended the Illinois Institute of Technology where he earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1986. He joined the United States Army in 1981, and served and retired from the Illinois Army National Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 Pilot after twenty-two years.
While in high school AUBREY expressed an interest in airplanes and received education and training in flying airplanes. He went on to pursue this life-long passion with Comair, Inc. and United Airlines as an Airline Pilot.
AUBREY found and discovered the complement of his love when he met Ericka in 2003, and they were blessed to enjoy thirteen years of marriage and friendship together. To this union was born their beautiful daughter Brea, in 2007, and AUBREY experienced true fulfillment as a husband and father. AUBREY enjoyed being a provider and spiritual guide to his beautiful family.
AUBREY was a dear friend to many and he left a profound mark on the lives of all those he loved and came into contact with. He was a quiet voice of reason and wisdom and his positive impact on people and this earth will remain.
AUBREY loved and served the Lord from his youth in the COGIC community. He was a faithful member of Powerhouse Church of God in Lexington, KY under the pastorate of Pastor Jacqueline White. He served as a Sound & Media Engineer until his health declined. AUBREY departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
